The mission of the Association is to advance our members’ knowledge of mineral regulation worldwide through the global participation of leading professionals, academics and policy makers, to foster an informed understanding of legal issues related to mineral exploration and mining and to interact with our members in the exchange of ideas and the formation and strengthening of professional relationships.
The Association is a membership organisation and membership is open to all in the legal profession, whether working for a law firm or in-house with a mining or service company. WAOML was founded by lawyers with a mining focus from a number of firms across the globe including Fasken, VdA, Norton Rose, Simmons & Simmons and Veirano.
Providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, discussion and debate of mineral law and policy so as to develop and form sensible regulatory guidance for the natural resource sector.
Through the global participation of leading law professionals, policy makers, governments, civil society organisations and researchers, WAOML provides a platform for informed discussions and debates aimed at addressing the increasing challenges faced in the global raw materials regulatory environment.
WAOML seeks an open dialogue with policy makers and industry stakeholders to help structure a healthy mining industry, where communities, the environment, governments and mining companies are treated fairly, and the appropriate regulatory tools are used to secure both investor and governments interests.
A two-day event focusing on the shifting and emerging challenges for mining lawyers and the global mining industry.
The Annual WAOML Conference brings together leading professionals, academics and policy makers, allowing delegates to exchange ideas and debate and discuss issues related to mineral exploration and mining, whilst forming and strengthening professional relationships across a global network.
Hosted in a different city each year, the conference offers attendees a full two-day programme, a welcome reception and an annual gala dinner. With rich programme content, global participation and leading expert insight in a relaxed and welcoming environment the Annual WAOML Conference is an unparalleled event not to be missed.
